JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:
Aviation Quality Control Inspectors use various inspection and testing methods to verify aircraft articles conform to the manufacturer’s specifications including condition, operational limits, and the Company’s Quality Management System. Responsible for ensuring company compliance with quality procedures, customer requirements, federal and other government agency regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform in-depth quality verification using various inspection methods to determine airworthiness of a product for receiving, in process, final, and return to service inspection
• Thoroughly audit both component maintenance and documentation to ensure complete compliance with approved/acceptable technical data, regulations, and repair station's approved quality system
• Analyze engineering publications, shop travelers, FAA, and manufacturer’s technical data to determine nature and extent of inspection requirements
• Determine most practical inspection method and technique and plan appropriate sequence of operation
• Select and use the appropriate precision measuring tools to dimensionally inspect and determine part tolerance and clearances including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, test and drop indicators, surface plates, feeler gauges, and torque wrenches
• Review article trace documentation to accurately identify suspect unapproved parts
• Locate and accurately interpret technical data
• Locate and accurately interpret blueprints and aircraft drawings
• Identify discrepancies on aircraft parts
• Keep accurate, neat, and legible records of the maintenance performed on aircraft articles
• Conduct audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion prior to approval for return to service
• Conduct in-process inspections on maintenance being performed
• Use company forms to document discrepancies and communicate findings to mechanics and department leads
• Enter inspection findings and other maintenance performed into the Electronic Reporting Program
• Perform final inspection using approved/accepted technical data to verify proper article configuration and operation
• Perform maintenance work on components received by the repair station including disassembly, cleaning, physical and dimensional inspection using measuring tools, assembly, and testing where necessary
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
• Mentor technicians on effective documentation
• Communicate with management and Planning department as required to identify work assignments and delivery schedules
• Continually monitor repair station compliance with 14 CFR 145 and the FAA accepted Repair Station and Quality Control Manual
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid & Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification
• Minimum 18 months of structural component inspection experience using various inspection methods or techniques
• Minimum 5 years performing structures component maintenance or equivalent experience in commercial aviation working on Nacelle Components, Flight Surfaces, Flight Controls, Sheet Metal & Composite Repair
• U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR Regulations
• Extensive knowledge of airworthiness and approval for return to service issuing FAA Form 8130-3
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, coordination, organization, planning, time management, and reporting/documentation skills

Work Environment: 100% shop floor (warehouse and aviation repair shop)
Lifting: Maximum 50 lbs
• Carrying, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching

Working Conditions:
This position works in a warehouse and aviation repair shop environment. Momentary exposure to high noises. Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents. Personal Protective Equipment may be required for certain tasks.
